This is how the works of the new El Alambrado bridge progress

The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) and Autopistas del Café continue working to restore mobility and make way for the opening of the new El Alambrado bridge, which connects the departments of Quindío and Valle del Cauca.

The previous bridge had to be dismantled after the structure collapsed last April , an incident of which the causes are still being investigated.

In the last three months, the authorities have implemented a mobility plan for the diversion of traffic and safe transit of users; a social accompaniment initiative to meet the needs of the affected communities; and environmental management activities.

According to information from the ANI, the work on the new bridge has a 58% progress in its execution and is projected to be put into operation in October of this year.

*100021 *This new structure will be 102 meters long, with two lateral parallel arches with a height of 17 meters and a weight of 580 tons.

Currently, the assembly of the pieces is being carried out metallic. To date, 250,000 kg of steel have already been welded and 265,000 kg have been assembled.

So Simultaneously, the construction of the four piles that will support the bridge is being carried out, which will have a depth of 25 mt. each, and two will be located on each side of the bridge.

The entity estimates that the assembly activities will end in mid-August.From here, the next step will be the launching of the bridge, which will be carried out in three stages.
